While I was in PA we had a baby shower for my sister. She is due May 9, just 5 days after me, with her first little one. Grandma is going to be busy this spring. :)
Awesome diaper cake made by my sis-in-law Andee
While we were partying downstairs this is what the boys were doing upstairs.
While Ryan traveled to Panama for an engineering school trip Hayden and I went up to PA for the week. It was a good week spending time with family and friends, but I missed Ryan! Hayden and I flew back to Raleigh the following Sunday. It was Hayden's first time flying, he did great. I am enjoying this stage of life with him as an only child for a few more months, being so independent and able to have conversations about anything and everything. He often has me laughing at his observations of life around him.
These pictures put a smile on my face. My Grandma holding an iPhone while Hayden explains the pictures on the phone to her.
It's easy to forget how beautiful Lancaster County is.
The highlight of the week in addition to flying was the ride on Grandpa's tractor.
It was a weekend that was in the making several months to surprise Ryan's mom for her 60th birthday. Ryan's parents were in Florida and on the way home were stopping in Raleigh for a visit. She thought it was just going to be just the 3 of us, but Ryan's dad had much more in mind. He asked if Ryan's brother, his wife and their children as well as Ryan's sister and her husband would be willing to travel to Raleigh to surprise her. Everything worked out and we pulled off a big surprise on Friday night! We packed the weekend full of fun things and had a great time being together again. Happy 60th Mom and Grandma! We hope you enjoyed your weekend. Hayden's birthday was on Sunday and his cousin Michael's is a few days later so we celebrated their birthdays as well. Happy 5 years Hayden and Michael!
Friends of ours stopped by for a short visit on their way home from Florida. Kelly and I are due 2 days apart. It was a good time of reconnecting and having the children play together.
