July 4th in New Bern

New Bern is celebrating it's 300th anniversary this year, since it was founded in 1710. This past weekend featured various festivities downtown. Last night, July 4, there was a small airshow and fireworks at Union Point Park. The park is located where the Neuse River and Trent River merge. Denise, Hayden and I had a good time hanging out with some friends from church, and I thought I would post some video from the night. There were at least several thousand people there, as well as a few hundred boats in the water. As a side note, towards the end of the video, you can see the new drawbridge that opened a few months ago after being under construction for about three years. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqzyqjOcY8w
