New Bern is celebrating it's 300th anniversary this year, since it was founded in 1710. This past weekend featured various festivities downtown. Last night, July 4, there was a small airshow and fireworks at Union Point Park. The park is located where the Neuse River and Trent River merge.
Denise, Hayden and I had a good time hanging out with some friends from church, and I thought I would post some video from the night. There were at least several thousand people there, as well as a few hundred boats in the water. As a side note, towards the end of the video, you can see the new drawbridge that opened a few months ago after being under construction for about three years.
